Biography for Bob Ferrari, CSCP, CPIM
Bob is a highly visible supply chain technology executive and noted industry analyst, with highly demonstrated and proven experience in business planning, process, and information technology transformation. His current focus is global supply chain transformation and supporting information technology strategies. He is known and respected as a supply chain visionary and thought leader with a keen understanding of global supply chain trends.
Bob’s viewpoints and writings has been quoted in many industry, web and business publications including Business Week Business Exchange, ComputerWorld, Fortune, Infosys SCM Blog, SAP Insider Learning Network, Supply Chain Management Review and the Supply Chain Expert Community.
Experience Bob serves as the founder and Managing Director of the Ferrari Consulting and Research Group as well as the Executive Editor of the very popular and well- read Internet blog, Supply Chain Matters.
His former role was Vice President of Marketing and Business Strategy for a privately-held supply chain inventory optimization technology vendor. In this role, Bob provided leadership of this company’s go-to-market strategy, partner alliances, and product marketing programs, helping to contribute to a three-fold increase in sales pipeline, as well as a one-third increase in software revenues.
In prior roles, Bob served as Practice Director of Supply Chain Strategies at Manufacturing Insights, an industry analyst research company affiliated with top-tier analyst firm IDC. Bob led and architected advisory research services and programs for the worldwide global supply chain, China manufacturing strategies, as well as high technology industry research programs. Bob was a Research Director at AMR Research, where he provided leading edge research and insights for the Supply Chain, Procurement, and Enterprise Management Applications practices.
Bob also served as Director of Supply Chain Product Marketing for SAP AG, with global responsibility for marketing, positioning and business development for mySAP Supply Chain Management applications. This role included major contributions to SAP’s articulation of the Adaptive Supply Chain vision, as well as directly supporting each of the SAP Industry Business Units on their industry-focused supply chain product development and go-to-market needs.
Bob’s early experience spans multiple supply chain business, planning, consulting, and IT management and consulting assignments within high-technology and other industry environments.

Professional Affiliations Bob is a longstanding member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), and currently serves as the Vice President for Business Development for the New England Roundtable Chapter of CSCMP. He was chosen by the Association of Operations Management (APICS) to be a member of the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Exam Review Committee for three years. Bob also serves as a board member of the North American Leadership Team for the Supply-Chain Council, Inc., founders of the Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR). Bob has also served as a previous board member for the MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation.
Education Bob holds an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
