Up Next on Supply Chain Matters- Coverage of Oracle OpenWorld
We are off to San Francisco to join upwards of 50,000 other expected attendees for nest week’s Oracle OpenWorld conference. Our Supply Chain Matters coverage of the conference will leverage and expand observations acquired from the Oracle Industry Analyst sessions held in April. We plan to hone in on the progress made in Oracle Open Cloud and in Fusion SCM, a supply chain management technology suite being designed and incrementally deployed to leverage five underlying core frameworks:
- Data model and services
- Business process support
- Analytics and calculation
- Integration services
- Data model extensibility
The applications that make-up Fusion SCM were planned to be deployed in a phased rollout strategy over the next 12-18 months.
As we noted in a previous Q&A interview commentary, Supply Chain Matters lead sponsor Infosys will be one of other prime sponsors of OpenWorld with Infosys CEO and Managing Director S.D. Shibulal sharing a featured keynote stage with Larry Ellison. Infosys will premiere its consulting and integration programs leveraging Oracle technology which includes Design to Deliver as well as other B2B fulfillment services..
Finally, we will focus our observations on the ongoing competitive battle among Oracle and other enterprise software and ERP providers, particularly SAP, in their efforts to compete in the broader supply chain management, procurement and B2B fulfillment market.
