Over on the venture capital site SandHill.com, I ran across a very excellent opinion piece, Ten Questions To Ask A Potential SaaS Vendor, on selection of any software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery vendor.  The author, Bahan Sadegh, who is the CEO and co-founder of Nettime Solutions does an excellent job of outlining ten important criteria for evaluating a software vendor who offers a SaaS delivery model. While he writes in the context of a time and attendance software application, there is applicability to most supply chain management software applications. I especially call your attention to section 2- Security, section-4 Experience, and Section 9- Scalability, since these often tend to be very critical aspects that software vendors tend to skirt because of budget and/or resource issues.
